TREMAP (Technology Refinement and Marketing Programme) is a new initiative by TIFAC.

TIFAC,an autonomous organisation under Department of Science and Technology, Government of India chaired by Dr. R. Chidambaram, (Former Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission & Secretary, Deptt of Atomic Energy, currently DAE Homi Bhabha Chair Professor, Bhaba Atomic Research Centre (BARC) Trombay, Mumbai), aims to keep a technology watch on global trends and formulating preferred technology options for India.

TIFAC was established with the following objectives:

Undertake technology assessment and forecasting studies in selected areas of national economy. Watch global trends and formulation of preferred options for India. Promotion of key technologies, and Provide information on technologies.
TIFAC has initiated TREMAP with an objective to drive the innovative products/prototypes up the commercialization cycle towards the market. The innovative proto-types/products having high potential of commercialization would be provided refinement and marketing support for Technology transfer.

The TREMAP Programme would address only those technologies (innovations) where at least the prototype model of the Innovation is already developed and the innovators themselves are not interested in undertaking its refinement or taking it further.

Deadline

TREMAP is conducting a first round of evaluation on March 2nd, 2009. So if you can prepare your report and submit it by March 2nd, you could be one of the lucky few to make the first cut.

Rewards

Once the product has been commercialized, the innovator stands to receive the majority of royalties and revenues from the sale/licensing of his/her product. You could be rewarded handsomely for the hard work you did in developing the prototype.

So burn some midnight oil and submit your project report before March 2nd, 2009.
